LOCAL RULES

Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf, its Decisions and the 2017 LIGA “Hard Card.” The following Local Rules also apply:

All play is from BLUE tee markers.

Format:  18 Holes of Stroke Play.   See Starter's Table for Notice on Qualifying Positions.

One Ball Rule:  is NOT in effect.

Embedded Ball Rule:  is in effect Through the Green.

Out of Bounds (OB): is defined by White Stakes, Bulkheads, Boundary Fences and other as follows:

> Bulkheads - over #2 green, left on #10, left and long on #11.

> White Stakes - left of the pond on #4, left on #5, left on #9 and #13 (Driving Range)

> White Stakes - internal OB playing #18 - right of pond along #13 fairway (not OB playing #13)

> Boundary fences - over #4 green, left fence on #7, over #15 green, left of #17

> Other - on #18 - inside edge of entrance road and inside edge of road and path curbing by green.

Note: a ball is OB when all of it is OB.

Water Hazards: are marked with Yellow stakes and lines. Lateral Water Hazards are marked with Red stakes and lines. When both stakes and lines are used, the stakes identify the hazard and the lines define the margin of the hazard. Lines defining the hazard margin are in the hazard.

Obstructions: All roads and cart paths (whether paved, stone, mulch or sand) are Obstructions.  Solid white lines tied into an Obstruction are deemed part of the Obstruction and not Ground Under Repair.

Stones in Bunkers: Stones in bunkers are movable Obstructions (Rule 24-1 applies).

NOTE: Sandy areas without rakes (and sometimes with grass clumps) are "Through the Green".

Ground Under Repair (GUR): is defined by connected White Lines.

Sprinkler Heads or Drains:  If on or within two club lengths of a green if they interfere on the line of play of a ball that is also within two club lengths of the sprinkler head or drain; relief may be taken. Drop ball at nearest point or, if ball lies on the putting green, place at nearest point.

Seams of Cut Turf (Sod Seams):  The Local Rule as prescribed in Appendix I is in effect.

Aeration Holes:  Through the Green, a ball that comes to rest in or on an aeration hole may be lifted without penalty, cleaned and dropped as near as possible to the spot where it lay but not nearer the hole. The ball when dropped must first strike a part of the course through the green.    Note: Parts of the fairway on #13 and #14 were recently aerated.

Distance Measuring Devices:  are permitted provided the device complies with Rule 14-3.

Accidental Movement of Ball on a Putting Green: Rules 18-2, 18-3 and 20-1 are modified as follows:  When a player’s ball lies on the putting green, there is no penalty if the ball or ball-marker is accidentally moved by the player, his partner, his opponent, or any of their caddies or equipment.  The moved ball or ball-marker must be replaced as provided in Rules 18-2, 18-3 and 20-1. Note: If it is determined that a player’s ball on the putting green was moved as a result of wind, water or some other natural cause such as the effects of gravity, the ball must be played from its new location.  A ball-marker moved in such circumstances is replaced.

Cell Phones: Smart phones may be used to access e-mail, texts and data, except while you are playing.  Talking on cell phones is restricted to the parking lot.  The penalty for breach of this rule is Disqualification.

Pace of Play: Please observe the Pace of Play on the scorecard. This Pace will be strictly enforced.
