Darin Goldstein of Noyac Golf Club is the Long Island Golf Association’s Player of the Year for 2017. This is Darin’s third consecutive Long Island Player of the Year Award. His top tournament finishes in 2017 include winning the 2017 MGA Mid-Amateur Championship, finishing 2nd in the New York State Mid-Amateur Championship, finishing 3rd in the Long Island Mid-Amateur Championship, reaching the quarter-finals of the Long Island Amateur Championship and high finishes in 11 other local, regional, state and USGA events.

Jay Sessa of Gardiner’s Bay Country Club and the Cherry Valley Club is the LIGA’s Senior Player of the Year for 2017. This is Jay’s fourth Long Island Senior Player of the Year Award, a return to the top of the standings after having won in 3 consecutive years from 2012-2014. Jay’s performance highlights for 2017 include winning and being the medalist in the Richardson Memorial Invitational’s Senior Masters Division, T2 in the Long Island Senior Amateur Championship, T1 Low Amateur in the Long Island Senior Open and making match play in the US Senior Amateur. In addition, Jay’s 2017 accomplishments include adding 190 points to his Senior Player of the Year total from regular Player of the Year events.
